Tomten '09

It's semi-official... Tomten '09 is going down on Saturday, July 25th!!!

What the hell is Tomten '09 you ask??? Only our first annual backyard music/party/beer drinking/food eatin'/northwoods dingwop!

And what the hell does "Tomten" mean and why would you name your big backyard party after it? Tomten is a mythical creature of Scandinavian folklore originating from Norse paganism. Tomten were believed to take care of a farmer's home and children and protect them from misfortune, in particular at night, when the housefolk were asleep. Tomten are short (three feet or so) elderly and of unpredictable disposition. He is attired in grey woolen clothes and wears a red cap.

So we figured we'd honor the little dude while eating, drinking and playing music.... I'm superfantastically excited about this whole deal.... hope all you that peek in on this dingwop here will be able to make it....we'll have early invites out by May or so..... food, drink and music are ALL on us.... Carrie and my bud Mitch "Knasty" Knase are the others that will be putting this whole deal on....

I've been working on the lineup and so far have secured 4 acts... with a 5th and 6th being a good 80 to 90% lock in. And for the fam folks out there... Chad Strehlo is penciled in to throw down a set of music so think 'bout that!

The other exciting piece of news is that everybody that shows up will get themselves a SWEET! Tomten '09 t-shirt.... I've been working up a logo and this is what we will most likely be going with.....

So in the outer depths of winter you can look forward to the heat of July.... a bunch of cold brews and hot barbque and think............
